Blogs I Read

Here are links to the blogs I read on a regular basis; please check them out!

Running and Life:

Eat Pray Run DC – Courtney started out as a high school runner, like me, took a break, like me, and then returned again because her passion is so strong.  I have learned a lot from her blogging experience and she is a super motivator of other running folks as part of the Oiselle Team. She also has a dachshund dog baby…bonus points! The Friday Five link up that she hosts with Mar on the Run and You Signed Up for What?! connected me to a lot of my favorite bloggers!

MommiesRun – If you need a few laughs, please visit Cecilia; she has two precious twin daughters, “the Ls,” and she holds it all together with a mischievous smile and an amazing wit. We go together like peas and carrots and try to get together when we can. Cecilia also posts great reviews of Oiselle gear and tells it like it is.

SarahRuns26 – Does she ever! Sarah has been running since she was a youngster; having completed almost 40 marathons, I appreciate her experience, knowledge and extensive movie collection (she does a lot of treadmill running!). She is currently training for…you guessed it, her next marathon.

Also Ran Again – Molly, not unlike the women listed above, has been a huge source of support and encouragement for me in my running and I love reading her blog. We share some things in common: we love the Amy’s (Poehler and Schumer); we love reading, the library, and Powell’s Books; and we both seem to enjoy learning things the hard way.

Travis & Marilyn Keys – One of my favorite couples in the PNW! Travis and Marilyn live in the Seattle area and enjoy running, baseball, good beer (doesn’t everyone in the PNW?) and sharing life with their adorable dog, Chopper; I can’t wait to hang out with them during my trip to Eugene next year.

Arkansas Runner Mom – Tia is a mom to four children (her daughter is an excellent runner!) and, by my standards, an elite athlete; she ran her first sub-3 hour marathon in December 2013 and is currently an Elite Development Athlete with Elite Marathoning and the U.S. Marathon Trials Project.

Books:

Sarah’s Book Shelves – Not only is Sarah an excellent book blogger, she’s also a runner and triathlete! Sarah has some outstanding book lists on her site so, if you are ever feeling stumped, go on over and find something new to read. She and I enjoy many of the same titles and I always look forward to sharing thoughts with her on recent reads.

River City Reading – Shannon is a fairly recent transplant to the South and she’s catching on quickly! She writes wonderful reviews and reads all types of books, but especially enjoys Southern fiction and nonfiction related to history and social justice; we enjoy many of the same, so I always look forward to finding out what she’s reading next.

The Gilmore Guide to Books – Catherine is a former librarian, voracious reader and beautiful writer; I appreciate her candid views on the titles she selects and we share similar reading tastes.

Estella’s Revenge – Andi works in higher education and has a fierce sense of fashion and excellent book choices; she blogs about many aspects of her life, but mostly her love of reading. I’m impressed that she is on a journey to read her own books this year (2016) because, as all book lovers know, they continue to pile up and we forget just how many jewels we already own before grabbing the next thing that catches our eye!

The Book Wheel – Allison has been blogging about her love of books for over three years, has won awards and created the #30Authors international blog event which led to a published anthology. I always enjoy her posts, about books or otherwise, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the event this year; check it out!
